A lovely vintage tole table lamp designed as a flowering plant, with tall stems rising from a sculptural base and branching into five light points formed as open flower heads. Each bulb sits within a petal shaped holder, surrounded by hand worked metal leaves and buds which give the piece a wonderfully organic, garden inspired feel. Finished in a soft aged gilt/silvered tone, the lamp has developed a lovely patina over time which adds depth and character to the metalwork. The naturalistic stems, textured detailing and sculptural base create a dramatic silhouette that reads almost like a piece of decorative garden sculpture when illuminated. Likely dating to the mid 20th century, pieces in this tole botanical style were popular in French and Italian decorative lighting of the period. A beautiful statement lamp for a console, sideboard or occasional table. Please note there is no in-line switch to the cord. Vintage condition with light wear to the finish consistent with age. Includes globes.
