An original oil painting by Polish artist Solomon Leski (b. 1928), depicting an elderly rabbi seated at a table studying an open book through a magnifying glass. Leski was known for his portrait and figurative work, with rabbis and scenes of Jewish life appearing regularly throughout his paintings. Signed “Leski” lower right and retaining an original biographical label to the reverse detailing the artist’s Polish background and studies in Łódź and Warsaw. Presented in a gilt timber frame. Good vintage condition with minor marks and wear consistent with age and use.
