A lovely vintage secretaire desk finished in a soft aged cream, decorated throughout with hand painted roses, trailing foliage and fine painted line detailing. The upper cabinet opens to reveal generous shelved storage, with two small drawers beneath. A fall-front writing surface opens to a fitted interior of pigeonholes and further petite drawers, while three full width drawers below provide additional storage. The curved pediment, shaped apron and delicate floral decoration give the piece a romantic European inspired character, while the original style painted knobs and decorative tassel complete the look. A particularly charming and practical piece, combining a writing desk, chest of drawers and cabinet within one slender form. Wear, marks, rubbing and areas of paint loss consistent with age and use.
