A decorative vintage Chinese timber storage chest finished in deep red lacquer, decorated throughout with gilt and black floral, foliate and butterfly motifs. The chest features a traditional curved top, large brass front lock plate and brass carrying handles to either side. The hinged lid opens to a generous storage compartment, with an additional full width drawer below. A beautiful decorative piece that works equally well as a storage chest, blanket box or occasional table. Vintage condition with wear, marks, scratches and losses to the lacquered finish consistent with age and use. Please refer to images for condition.
