A vintage mid century ceramic horse modelled in the style of the celebrated horses of China’s Tang Dynasty. The horse is richly decorated with an elaborate saddle and harness, finished in a deep brown glaze with vivid amber, green and cobalt blue detailing. The upright stance, arched neck and ornate trappings draw directly from traditional Chinese Tang horse forms, while the glossy multicoloured glaze gives this later decorative example its distinctive mid century. Good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use.
