Vintage hand carved timber Oriental war horse finished in richly layered hand painted tones of deep red, black and blue with decorative saddle, harness and tassel detailing. The bold carving and traditional form reflect the influence of ceremonial and temple horses found throughout East and Southeast Asia, making it a wonderful decorative piece for both traditional and eclectic interiors. In good vintage condition with age-related wear throughout, including rubbing and losses to the painted finish, minor chips, surface marks and small age-related splits to the timber, all consistent with age and use.
