A refined pair of vintage giltwood salon chairs in the Louis XVI style featuring fluted legs, a shaped frame and a decorative pierced lyre back rest. Original red patterned fabric upholstery finished with traditional studwork trim. The gilded finish has mellowed over time with areas of wear and rubbing that add to their character. Structurally solid, with the underside showing traditional construction and age appropriate materials. They are on the smaller side, making them ideal as bedroom chairs, hallway pieces or pulled into a living space when needed. The fabric and frame shows wear consistent with age and use.
