A vintage French Louis XV style bergère settee, featuring a carved gilt wood frame with wraparound cane back and sides. The shaped frame features carved floral detailing, a serpentine seat rail, sweeping arms and cabriole legs with scroll feet. Finished with a fixed upholstered seat and generously proportioned loose seat cushion in ivory fabric. The cane is in good order. Wear consistent with age and use, including rubbing, marks and losses to the gilt finish. The upholstery and loose cushion show visible marks, staining and discolouration, including more pronounced staining beneath the loose cushion, as pictured.
