An original French advertising poster from 1955, produced for the seventh Foire-Exposition de Montauban, held from 9–19 June in the Tarn-et-Garonne region of southwestern France. Featuring bold Art Deco-influenced typography and colourful illustrations of regional produce, industry and architecture, including Montauban's historic bridge. The composition reflects the graphic advertising style of mid century France. Printed by Chabrillac Imprimeur in Toulouse, with the original printer's inscription and artist's signature visible within the design. Professionally framed in a substantial black timber frame with gilt inner detailing. Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age, including original fold lines, creasing, surface marks and minor discolouration to the paper including lifting in glass (see photos for more). These details are visible beneath the glazing and reflect the poster's history. A wonderful example of mid century French commercial graphic design.
