A substantial vintage European wrought iron three seater garden settee, with an exceptionally decorative hand worked wrought iron frame. At 185cm wide, this is an impressive piece of garden furniture, with three individually formed backs surrounded by elaborate scrolling ironwork, sweeping arms, an ornate scrolling apron and beautifully shaped legs with curled feet. The fine, almost lace like ironwork has the romantic character associated with French and Continental European garden furniture of the period, together with a distinctly glamorous Hollywood Regency feel. The initials “A N” are worked into the ironwork on both sides of the frame. We have had the settee professionally reupholstered in a bold black and white striped outdoor fabric, with a generous fitted seat cushion and three matching loose back cushions. The wrought iron retains layers of its aged painted finish, with chipping, exposed iron, surface oxidation and weathering throughout consistent with age and outdoor use - patina - just how we like it!. We have intentionally retained this finish rather than refinishing the frame. A beautiful and unusually large piece of vintage European garden furniture, equally suited to a garden, verandah, conservatory or interior setting.
