A refined well-proportioned pair of vintage Empire style French bedside tables or occasional tables, finished in richly toned mahogany with delicate satinwood-style inlay. The tops are surrounded nicely with brass gallery edging. Each table features a compact oval form with three small drawers to the front, flanked by decorative gilt mounts, and raised on slender tapered legs with brass-capped feet. Condition consistent with age, with surface wear, marks, and some losses to finish particularly around the drawer edges and tops. All drawers run, though not perfectly smooth as expected with pieces of this age. Sold as a pair.
