A lovely antique Baltic pine pedestal desk, featuring a warm natural timber finish and traditional Victorian inspired styling. The desk features a generous rectangular writing surface with a raised gallery along the back and sides, decorative turned finials and three drawers across the front. Ornate metal escutcheons, fluted pilasters, recessed panelled cupboard doors and bun feet complete its traditional design. Below are two pedestal cupboards, one opening to reveal an internal shelf providing two storage compartments, while the opposite cupboard is fixed shut. The three drawers offer additional storage for stationery and paperwork. No keys are included. The desktop lifts off the pedestal bases for easier transport and moving. A substantial and practical piece with lovely natural pine grain, ideal for a home office, study or as a decorative writing desk. Antique condition with wear consistent with age and use, including surface scratches, marks, minor knocks and wear to the timber finish, all adding to its character.
