An elaborate vintage five light candelabra table lamp in the French Louis XV Rococo Revival style, combining ornate gilt metalwork, floral decorated porcelain and etched glass shades. The central column features shaped white porcelain sections decorated with delicate purple floral sprays, gilt detailing and scrolling foliage. Five sweeping gilt metal arms extend from the central stem, each supporting a matching porcelain fitting and an amber tinted glass shade with etched floral decoration and a softly flared rim. The finely cast metalwork incorporates acanthus leaves, scrolling branches and an elaborate pierced base, mounted on a square slab of richly veined onyx. Inspired by the decorative French candelabra of the 19th century, this later example retains the opulence and intricate ornament associated with the Rococo Revival style. When illuminated, the five glass shades produce a warm, diffused light, making it particularly suited to a grand entrance, drawing room or generously proportioned side table. A substantial and highly decorative piece of vintage lighting. Vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use, including some rubbing and patination to the gilt finish.
