A beautiful pair in the Louis XV taste, with carved cabriole legs, scrolling detail and a gilt finish that has worn back beautifully over time. Each is topped with a brecciated marble in tones of ivory, soft grey and deep burgundy, with natural fracture patterning that gives each top its own variation and depth. The bases are carved timber with a gilt finish, now gently aged with visible wear that adds to the overall character rather than detracting from it. Mid 20th century, made in the French style. Wear to the gilt and minor marks to the marble tops consistent with age and use. A classic, decorative pair that works just as well bedside as it does flanking a sofa.
