A generous pair of French salon chairs with a strong presence. High backs, shaped arms and cabriole legs with carved detailing throughout, finished in a warm gilt tone. The frames have good depth to the carving, particularly through the knees, apron and arms, giving them that proper Louis XV feel without being overly delicate. Upholstered in a bold painted striped fabric in tones of ochre, gold and deep charcoal. Condition consistent with age. Frames show light wear and rubbing to the gilt in places.
