A magnificent pair of vintage Empire Revival table lamps featuring beautifully cast solid brass eagles with outstretched wings above ebonised fluted timber column bases and solid brass plinths. Inspired by classical French Empire design, they make an impressive addition to both traditional and maximalist interiors. Both lamps have been professionally rewired by a qualified electrician and comply with Australian electrical standards. They are ready to use and each includes a globe. The lamps retain what appear to be their original black faux leather shades finished with decorative tassel fringe, pairing beautifully with the warm brass and ebonised timber. Very solid and well made, these are ideal for bedside tables, a library, console or sideboard where they can be appreciated as both lighting and decorative objects. One shade is missing its top finial, however it still sits securely in place. There are minor marks to the brass, ebonised bases and shades consistent with age and use, including a few light scuffs. Overall a magnificent pair that I have debated taking home!
