Decorative hand painted religious icon depicting the Madonna and Child in the Byzantine tradition, with elongated features, rich burgundy and gold tones and traditional Greek lettering. Painted on a solid timber panel with a textured, crackled gilt background and hand finished detailing throughout. Includes the gold tone adjustable metal display stand as pictured, allowing the icon to be raised or lowered to suit. The icon also has provision to the reverse for hanging directly on a wall.
