A fine English William IV rosewood pole firescreen by Lodge & Co of Lancaster & Preston, dating to the early 19th century. Featuring a circular hand-painted floral panel on a black ground, mounted to an adjustable brass pole above a carved rosewood column and shaped tripod base with carved feet. Stamped to the underside “LODGE & CO, LANCASTER & PRESTON.” Wear consistent with age and use, including crazing and surface marks to the painted panel and a small loss to the lower edge as photographed. Circa 1830-1840.
