An antique Victorian wall mirror dating to the late 1800s, with a beautifully shaped timber frame surmounted by an elaborate carved grapevine crest featuring clusters of grapes and scrolling vine leaves. Displaying Renaissance Revival influences, the mirror has a warm polished timber finish, decorative moulded framing and aged mirror glass with characteristic foxing and wear. The carved crest is a separate original style fitting that slots into the top of the frame and can be removed for transport. Wear consistent with age and use, including some historic timber shrinkage, fine splits and ageing to the mirror glass.
