A fine 19th century hand painted porcelain portrait of Lord Byron, after the well known portraits of the English Romantic poet. The oval porcelain plaque is set within a finely detailed brass mount with ribbon crest, housed in its original velvet-covered frame with brass hanging ring. The reverse of the porcelain is inscribed “Lord Byron”. The velvet has considerable fading and wear from age, adding to the character of the original frame. The porcelain portrait itself remains beautifully detailed. Wear consistent with age and use.
