An antique miniature portrait depicting an elderly lady in traditional dress, finely hand painted in watercolour on a thin ivory panel. The sitter is shown wearing spectacles and a lace bonnet, with delicate detailing to the face, clothing and headdress. Set within a small gilt metal oval mount and an ebonised rectangular frame. The reverse retains its original fittings, and the portrait is accompanied by the small timber display stand pictured. Wear consistent with age and use, including losses, marks and rubbing to the ebonised frame. The miniature itself remains beautifully detailed.
