A beautiful antique French Provincial dining table featuring elegant cabriole legs and a flowing carved apron centred with a classic shell motif. The generous oVal top sits above softly curved lines and delicate hand carved detailing typical of French country furniture from around the turn of the century. The timber top displays a subtle parquetry pattern and has developed a rich warm tone over time. At some stage in its life the table has been sympathetically refurbished, with the top refinished and the base partially stripped back, leaving traces of the earlier finish within the carving which adds depth and character to the piece. The result is a lovely contrast between the darker polished top and the lighter carved base, giving it that relaxed French country look. A wonderful size for dining, comfortably seating six, or equally striking used as a large centre table. This table was an extension table at some point however has been fixed shut (does not include leaves or extension component).
