A beautiful antique Chinese export lacquered four-panel coromandel screen featuring a temple scene with figures, surrounded by flora and fauna featuring weeping willows, lotus flowers and palms. The carved lacquer panels are embellished with vivid colours of natural pigments on an amazing gold leaf square ground. The panels are supported by square legs with patinated brass clad feet. The opposite side is decorated with flowers and a flock of birds. The lacquer panels are heavy and solid conjoined with modern hardware. Minor marks consistent with age.
