A finely detailed miniature portrait of a young lady in period dress, set within an oval metal mount against a deep burgundy ground. Housed in an ornate gilt composition frame with scrolling foliate decoration. An old Academy Art Pty Ltd, Rose Bay label remains to the reverse. Wear consistent with age and use, including losses and rubbing to the gilt finish and wear to the paper backing, as pictured.
