A late 19th century gilt girandole mirror in the Louis XVI style, with a rope-twist frame, tied bow crest and tassel detailing. Classic oval plate with twin candle arms extending forward. Neoclassical in feel, with cleaner lines and detail rather than anything overly ornate. The candle arms sit proud of the frame, giving it a bit of depth and a nice glow when lit. There are losses, wear and age-related cracking to the gesso and gilt throughout, all consistent with age, and they don’t detract from its overall look.
