A substantial and exquisite antique mid-18th Century French handpainted faïence urn attributed to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie; a provence in southern France famous for hand-painted tin-glazed earthenware pottery. Circa 1745. Bright white ground beautifully painted with yellow, blue and green foliage with unique scenes to front and back. Some chips, signs of wear and repair - most noticeably to base and faces (side). Refer photos. Condition is excellent for age. Includes Sothebys paperwork expertly attributing make and age.
