Handwoven wool rug attributed to the Qashqai tribes of southern Iran. Strong red field with a deep indigo stepped medallion and bold geometric borders, all classic to Qashqai tribal work. The wool has that slightly irregular, hand-spun feel you only get with handmade pieces. Likely mid to late 20th century rather than antique, but very much the real thing. Honest wear consistent with age, no major issues. A solid, character-filled rug that holds its own in a room without trying too hard.
