A decorative Louis XVI style mirror featuring a bevelled mirror plate set within an elaborate hand carved timber frame, finished in a aged wash. The frame features classical French Neoclassical detailing, including a floral wreath, crossed torches, flowing ribbons, carved roses and trailing foliage. The rectangular outer frame is finished with geometric borders and floral corner details, with further ribbon carving along the base. Inspired by 18th century French Louis XVI designs, the crossed torches and floral motifs are traditionally associated with love and romance. A beautifully detailed mirror with a soft, aged appearance. Minor intentional wear and imperfections to the timber finish.
