A plaster architectural corbel modelled as a devotional angel, originally designed to project from a wall beneath a cornice or ledge. Likely salvaged from a church or ecclesiastical interior in Belgium, dating to the late 19th to early 20th century and reflecting Baroque Revival influence. The surface shows wear, losses and old paint remnants consistent with age and original architectural use. Retains an original Belgian removals tag from Bruges, indicating professional architectural salvage. I’ve hung it on a wall with an “L” shaped bracket.
