Beautiful refined pair of vintage French fauteuils in the Louis XVI style with classic shield-form cane backs, fluted legs and carved rosette detailing with gently outscrolled arms and a nicely shaped seat. Finished in a soft, aged paint with paired with a warm rust-toned velvet upholstery. A great pair for either side of a console, in a bedroom or worked into a living space. Vintage, mid to late 20th century. Frames show use with minor joins exposed and wear. Cane is intact. Upholstery shows wear and variation to the velvet consistent with age and use. Underneath webbing visible as expected for pieces of this period. Overall a stunning pair!
