Antique three arm candelabra table lamp, continental European in origin and executed in the French Empire Revival style, with strong Louis XVI neoclassical influence. The balanced symmetry, classical proportions and faceted cut glass stem are hallmarks of this decorative tradition, complemented by crystal drops and richly patinated brass detailing.
I sourced this piece from a French antique dealer in the French Quarter, Montreal, an area long associated with European decorative arts and French design influence. It has since been fully rewired to Australian standards and is in full working order.
The lamp includes newer red chiffon pleated shades and specialty bulbs. Shades can easily be changed to suit a more restrained or contemporary interior if desired.
Condition is consistent with age and use, including minor wear to the brass finish and light age related marks to the glass elements. Please refer to photos for overall condition.
