A substantial antique English oak refectory table dating to the late 19th or early 20th century (circa 1890-1920), made in the Jacobean Revival style. The rectangular oak top has breadboard ends and sits above a heavy stretchered base with large cup and cover turned supports, sledge feet and a long central floor stretcher. The deep brown oak has lovely visible grain throughout, particularly across the top and turned legs. A beautifully solid old table with plenty of character and a great scale for use as a dining table, kitchen table or large centre table. There is wear throughout consistent with age and use, including marks, scratches and losses to the edges of the top, along with age related splits through the turned supports (refer photos). Structurally very solid.
