An early 20th century centre table with an oval Carrara marble top set over an ebonised bentwood base. The marble has a soft white grey ground with natural grey veining and a rounded moulded edge. The base is formed from sweeping bentwood supports, joined by a cross stretcher with a turned central finial. A handsome example of the Central European bentwood tradition popular around the turn of the 20th century, with the dark timber contrasting beautifully against the pale marble. Wear consistent with age and use, including marks to the ebonised finish, age related wear to the bentwood, and minor marks to the marble. Please see photos for further condition.
