A fine quality and beautifully proportioned Anglo Indian Aesthetic Movement centre table dating to the late Victorian period. Beautifully crafted, featuring a richly figured dark timber top above a teak frieze with hand inlaid rosewood marquetry decorated with floral and scrolling foliate motifs, reflecting the Japanese inspired influence associated with the Aesthetic Movement. Raised on four clusters of turned legs, each with ebonised spindle galleries, the table is united by a stretcher base featuring further rosewood marquetry and a central turned timber finial. The underside retains a brass workshop plate stamped "E & Co BW 1752". Well proportioned for use as a centre table in an entrance or as an occasional table in a library, sitting room or large bedroom. In original condition with an attractive aged patina. There are age related marks, minor losses and wear to sections of the marquetry, along with some timber shrinkage and surface wear consistent with age and use.
