A beautiful late 19th to early 20th century French Empire influenced cabinet featuring two drawers over two cupboard doors, finished in a rich deep mahogany toned stain with carved column details, stepped mouldings and turned bun feet. Topped with a substantial grey veined marble slab displaying a beautifully timeworn surface patina. The marble shows scratching, marks and age related wear consistent with decades of use, all of which adds to its character and old world feel. The marble also sits slightly forward, exposing a narrow timber strip to the rear where a mirror or upper gallery would have originally rested - see photos for more. Internally fitted with shelving and generous storage. A stunning, moody piece equally suited as a sideboard, hall cabinet or bathroom vanity conversion. Condition consistent with age and use including surface wear, minor marks and imperfections to timber and marble as photographed. Marble wear and positioning reflected in price.
